What is ACM?

ACM is a key control device in the exhaust gas aftertreatment system, and plays a very important role in the SCR system, especially to meet Euro 6 and higher regulations.
This is an independent module that electronically controls the exhaust gas aftertreatment systems (SCR/DPF, etc.) of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles.
Working with the engine control unit (MCM), it purifies exhaust gases and maintains compliant emission levels.

ACM's main control targets

Control target Explanation
SCR system AdBlue injection control, dosing valve operation
NOx sensor pre-treatment/post-treatment Monitoring NOx concentration in exhaust gas
DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter) Playback cycle control, back pressure detection
NH₃ sensor Ammonia slip detection and precision control
Temperature/Pressure Sensor Temperature/Pressure Sensor
Heaters, pumps, and pressure regulators Control of auxiliary devices inside the element tank or injection system

Symptoms of ACM failure

Symptoms Possible causes
Element Derivative / Element Deficiency Warning Dosing valve control failure, signal abnormality
DPF regeneration failure Exhaust temperature sensor/pressure sensor error
Warning light on (Check Engine, SCR) Defective NOx sensor or internal ACM error
Limp mode (output limitation) Excessive exhaust gas detection, improper dosing, and urea system failure
Start restriction warning When storing repeated SCR system errors
